Finally, Gopal Shetty brings Konkan Railway to Borivali Station

Mumbai:  After many years of relentless and sustained follow up with the railway department and with railway minister Piyush Goyal, Member of Parliament Gopal Shetty has finally been able to bring Konkan Railway to halt at Borivali station. Now the Konkan wasies from the western suburbs of Mumbai will not have to rush from western suburbs to either CST, Kurla, Dadar or Vasai to catch the cheapest means of transport for their native places. They are very happy that they can board the train from either Bandra or Borivali and thanked Mr. Goapl Shetty for the same. The said train was departed from Borivali Railway station on Tuesday midnight.

When asked about the struggle to get this train to start from Bandra and have a halt at Borivali station, MP. Gopal Shetty said that "I am very glad and would like to extend my gratitude to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal for addressing the concerns of the people so promptly. I was perusing the matter since from the past 5 years with the railway ministry, and they too responded well within time. This is the pattern of work culture established by the Narendra Modi led NDA Government, this is how we work for the people of this country".  The 1st train on this route (Konkan Railway) ran on 26th January 1998. Trains like Netrawati, Trivandrum Rajdhani Express, Hazrat Nizamuddin Mangalore Express have been operative on this route, and are very popular, but for the population of around 62.20 lakhs from the Western suburbs had to go to Dadar, Kurla or Vasai to catch them especially during the Ganpati or Holi Festival. But they were time-consuming since these trains took circulations routes which were diverted via Konkan railway. Now the problem has been solved "

Representatives of many Ganesh mandals, social organizations from Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg District were present to celebrate and congratulate the Konkan wasies at Borivali station. They all appreciated the efforts taken by Gopal Shetty for this and yet again assured their support for him in the upcoming elections.

Also present were Corporators Deepak (Bala) Tawde, Corporator Ganesh Khankar, Shrikant Kavthankar, Yogesh Padwal, Shekhar Tarphe, Pramod Gujar, Reshma Takke, Vinay Loke, and others...
